Member states rotate hosting the annual Midwest School Social Work Conference, held each fall.

The Council is comprised of state association presidents, state consultants (when applicable), and practicing school social workers. Through shared leadership and collaboration, the Council works to strengthen member organizations, promote ongoing communication among state and national school social work organizations, and advance high-quality professional development opportunities across the Midwest.
