Brianna Havelka, MSW LICSW
Special Education SSW and Special Education Treatment Supervisor, Anoka Hennepin School District
Brianna Havelka, MSW LICSW began her social work career in Waiver Case Management and switched to School Social Work at Lionsgate Academy for 3 years and then moved to Anoka Hennepin School District where she has been for the past 5 years. She spent time in middle and elementary schools and is currently a special education social worker in high school as well as a Treatment Supervisor for Mental Health billing in Special Education. She provides BOSW supervision for district social workers and also is a Youth Therapist at the Domestic Abuse Project part time. The rest of her free time is spent with her golden retriever. Brianna brings experience and knowledge of mental health needs and perspectives from kids of all ages and different lived experiences. She is eager to continue supporting MH-Sped and partnering with others to help meet the needs of students and families.

Navigating the intersection of Special Education (IEP) goals and clinical mental health treatment requires more than just good intentions—it requires a data-driven, evidence-based framework. This workshop provides a comprehensive review of mental health services within Anoka-Hennepin Special Education programs, focusing on the transition from general Social, Emotional, and Behavioral (SEB) goals to specialized treatment goals.

Identify evidence-based interventions that support school mental health services and align with third-party billing and clinical supervision requirements.

Compare intervention approaches including DBT-informed practices, CBT programs, Overcoming Obstacles, and Aggression Replacement Training (ART).
